This policy explains what Hookline collects, why, and what control you have. It is written to be read, not survived. If anything here is unclear, email [email protected].
01Overview
Hookline turns a topic, URL, or transcript into short-form video scripts. To do that it processes the text you submit and, if you have an account, stores your generations. We collect the minimum needed to run the product and bill it fairly.
02What we collect
Account data: your email address and a display name. Usage data: the inputs you submit, the scripts generated, token counts, and timestamps. Payment data: handled entirely by Stripe, so we never see or store your full card details. Technical data: a coarse device or network signal used only to rate limit the free demo.
03How we use it
We use your data to generate scripts, show your history and library, enforce plan limits, process payments, send the email you ask for, and keep the service secure. We do not sell your data, and we do not use your generations to train any AI model.
04AI processing
Script generation runs on Anthropic Claude models through their API. The text you submit is sent to that API to produce your scripts. Anthropic processes it under their own terms and does not train on data sent through the API. If you would not paste a piece of text into a third-party tool, do not paste it into Hookline.
05Cookies and storage
We use a small number of essential cookies to keep you signed in. We do not run advertising trackers. On the free plan, saved scripts are kept in your browser local storage, on your device, not on our servers.
06Data retention
We keep your account and generations for as long as your account is open. You can delete an individual generation at any time, and deleting your account removes the profile and every generation tied to it. Newsletter records are kept until you unsubscribe.
07Your rights
You can access, correct, export, or delete your data. Most of this is available directly in the dashboard. For anything else, email [email protected] and we will action it within thirty days.
08Third party services
Hookline relies on a small set of providers: Anthropic for generation, Supabase for the database and authentication, Stripe for payments, Resend for email, Upstash for rate limiting, and Vercel for hosting. Each one processes data only to perform its function.
